President & Vice President Candidates

Re-Open Nominations

(RON)

RON is an acronym that stands for Re-Open Nominations. If you are not happy to vote for any of the candidates currently standing for election, you can vote for RON to re-open nominations instead. RON appears on the ballot and votes for RON are counted in the same way as those for candidates. If RON is declared the winner after all votes have been counted, the nomination process will be started again. The original candidates will be allowed to run again in the new election, but it gives the opportunity for additional candidates to nominate themselves and run as well.

Where there are two candidates, you may choose to vote RON as your second choice.

You do not have to vote for RON at all if you don't want to.
