Coronavirus: update from NUASU (17th March)

As you will have seen (or check now!) you have been sent an email from the Vice-Chancellor with regards to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the actions and changes that are happening on campus and to teaching in the weeks and months to follow. Further updates and news from the University will be released shortly.

Following this update from the University, as well as the recent update from the government regarding social gatherings and additional social distancing measures being introduced to tackle Coronavirus, we have made the decision to cancel all club and society meetings for the remaining two weeks of term, as well as all Give it a Go events and the Storehouse Launch party.

We are really sorry to have to do this, but the health, safety and wellbeing of students is our top priority, and this is the safest thing to do.

We will also be monitoring the situation regarding future planned Students’ Union events for the next two months, such as Spring Market, Summer Ball and our Student Awards night. Updates will be released in due course.

We know that many students are worried about the current situation, for yourself, friends, family and your studies at NUA. Please keep checking emails for updates from us and the University, the Intranet page that is updated daily, and government guidelines for information and guidance. We understand that this is a worrying time for everyone. Look after yourself and look out for friends too, and if you are seeking any support or advice please email me at su.president@nua.ac.uk.

Take care and all the best,

Hannah
