Norwich University of the Arts SU (NUASU) and the Union of UEA Students’ (UEASU) are excited to collaborate on a project that offers a unique opportunity for Black students and tutors from UEA and NUASU to showcase their artwork. This work will be featured in a talent-packed exhibition, with the objective of highlighting the creative brilliance within the Black student community.

Our exhibition, aptly titled the "Norwich Students Black History Month Gallery," will be hosted at Norwich University of the Arts on November 7th. This event serves as a platform to celebrate and highlight the exceptional work and talent of Black students and tutors from both Norwich University of the Arts and the University of East Anglia. The exhibition's theme encourages exploration of subjects such as the Black diaspora, significant historical moments or figures, as well as themes centred around self-love and pride.

We plan to celebrate this event with a launch gathering, inviting family, friends, and stakeholders to join us in commemorating this powerful exploration of Black history through art.

All chosen artists will be provided hanging space to display their artworks, if selected, your name and an example of your art will be featured on NUASU’s and UEA’s website and shared on our social media channels.

We warmly welcome submissions across various artistic mediums, but please consider that the available exhibition space may impose limitations on the selection of large-scale artworks. Hanging pieces should be no larger than A1 and ready display when delivered.

Additionally, there is a grant of £20 available to cover the cost of materials for your project. This grant can be claimed retrospectively as long as you can provide receipts for your purchase.
