Norwich University of the Arts Students' Union is really looking forward to welcoming you to the NUA community! The Students' Union is responsible for organising NUA SU Freshers - a fortnight of events to welcome you to NUA and Norwich and help you meet new people.
As we move closer to the start of the new academic year and Freshers 2020, we want to reassure all new students that Freshers will still be happening this year. We believe that all students should have the opportunity to experience Freshers and participate in the events and activities that appeal to them. We are working with the University and following Government guidelines as we organise this year's Freshers schedule, packed with a variety of events and activities to offer something for everyone.
We are unable to give you more specific details at the moment, but we assure you that there will be lots of opportunities to meet one another, have fun, be introduced to our brilliant societies we have to offer at NUA and so much more.
*IMPORTANT* Please be aware of scam events and unofficial event promoters
All Official events organised by the Students' Union or University will use their logos in the branding and promotion. Please be wary of independent event organisers promoting unofficial Freshers events. These are not affiliated to NUA or NUA Students' Union. Organisers may be selling tickets for unofficial events, and we advise you not to purchase them. We feel it it irresponsible for promoters to sell tickets given the current uncertain situation and the fact that Government advise is not yet clear about events able to run in September.
The latest update from the University regarding the start of term can be found here.
What are the dates of Freshers 2020?
Monday 14th September to Friday 25th September
Where will Freshers information be released?
We recommend you keeping an eye on our website for more details as we release them, as well as following us on social media:
Will the Freshers events this year be physical or online?
The health and safety of our community is our top priority. Under current government guidelines, it is very unlikely that large scale social events will be able to take place. Reduced capacities and other measures of social distancing to protect public health are expected to continue beyond September. This means that the Students' Union is unlikely to be able to deliver the large physical events we had hoped to until such social distancing measures are removed. Freshers events and activities may instead be run online, or in much smaller capacities and group sizes.
